
Thomas William Selleck is an American actor from the United States. His most memorable role was as the private investigator Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) in which he earned five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series, winning in 1985. In the show Blue Bloods, Selleck has been a part of the character Frank Reagan, New York City Police Commissioner. In 2005, he has portrayed an uneasy police chief from a small town Jesse Stone in nine television films that were based on the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). Also, he's appeared in more than 50 other TV and film roles since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He was a regular TV actor on the show playing Monica Geller's lover Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the likable, innocent lover, in The Rockford Files; and as A.J., the casino owner.
